Wondering where to begin?
Whether you are a student, faculty, school, or a potential ZSFG preceptor, please review the following information to begin the student placement process:
  1. Students cannot be placed on the ZSFG campus without first executing a MOU (Memorandum of Understanding), which is an agreement for Use of Facilities for Clinical Experience between the school and San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH). Examplate of the MOU template used by SFDPH.
  2. For an up to date list of active agreements, please check the Approved List of Schools and Programs. Remember to check both the school and the program, both need to be covered prior to a student placement.
  3. If the school or academic program is not on the Approved List of Schools and Programs, please have the schools program coordinator complete the Student Placement Agreement Form  to begin the approval process.
  4. Upon receipt of the completed form, the approval process can take up to 3 months or longer.
Please note:
  • Establishing an Agreement does not guarantee a placement opportunity within ZSFG. It is an agreement for the use of our facility for Clinical and/or Non-Clinical experience purpose only.
  • Internship placement does not apply to the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF) medical students enrolled in clerkships or classes.  Contact the UCSF Medical Education Department for more information.
