Due to the surge in COVID-19 cases and the resources needed to respond to the increasing demands on our health care system and the hospital, ZSFG will not provide nursing and allied health student placements that require patient contact for the month of January 2021. This includes students within these categories: • All nursing student placements, including advanced practice and preceptorships • Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy students • EMS and Paramedic students • Rehabilitation Services: PT, OT, SLP and related disciplines • Radiology Services These restrictions do not apply to UCSF residency programs, including Medical, Dental, Midwifery, and Pharmacy. We recognize how impactful this decision is to students and programs and regret any inconvenience this may cause. We will reevaluate our ability to accept student placements with our Executive Team and Infection Prevention and Control partners on February 1, 2021. An additional notification will be posted at that time. Thank you for your cooperation and collaboration with these efforts during this stressful time. Academic partners are advised to contact your DPH student placement representative with any questions or concerns.
Nursing Students

Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG) provides a learning experience for various levels of nursing students.

Please note: Students cannot be placed on the ZSFG campus without first executing a MOU (Memorandum of Understanding), which is an agreement for Use of Facilities for Clinical Experience between the school and San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH). Establishing an Agreement does not guarantee a placement opportunity within ZSFG.

At present, ZSFG is NOT able to accommodate any new RN, NP, & PA affiliation.
