Wondering where to begin?
Whether you are a student, faculty, school, or a potential ZSFG preceptor, please review the following information to begin the student placement process:
-
Students cannot be placed at any San Francisco Department of Public Health (SF DPH) location or program, including the ZSFG campus, without first executing a Student Training Agreement Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). These MOUs apply to all SF DPH agencies and programs and are managed by the SF DPH Contracts Management and Compliance Office, not individual DPH agencies or programs.
-
For the current list of active Agreements, please check the Approved List of Schools and Programs. Remember to check both the school and the program, both need to be covered prior to a student placement.
-
If the school or academic program is not on the Approved List of Schools and Programs, the school's program coordinator or other representative complete the Student Placement Agreement Form to begin the approval process.
-
The approval process can take up to 3 months or longer after the completed Form has been received.
Please note:
Establishing an Agreement with SF DPH does not guarantee a placement opportunity within ZSFG. ZSFG considers multiple factors to determine our ability to accommodate student placements and these factors are evaluated every semester. The University of California at San Francisco (UCSF) has a separate process for managing medical student placements. Contact the UCSF Medical Education Department for more information.
